Menu of Highland Park Dining
Let Me Show You Highland Park!
Here's a quick tour of some of our favorite
Highland Park area restaurants.
My preference is to start with the some
of the locals’ favorites…because that’s what all of the
out-of-towners want to hear about first!
One of our first choices is Norton's…or
Nortoni’s, as the owners often say. We love the food, the
atmosphere and it is conveniently located directly next door to
the Coldwell Banker office in Highland Park.
Here’s another local favorite…Carlos’, which is
just at the cusp between Highland Park and Highwood. This
restaurant is always getting rave reviews and is a very special
place for a very special lunch or dinner! Many
courses…very fancy service…great for a special occasion!
Now it’s time to get serious. What about those times that
you are on the run, just plain hungry or thinking about that
gnawing urge to have something just a little bit greasy…just to
fill that craving that you’ve put off for long enough that you
feel it’s genuinely justifiable to indulge. Who will
know, anyhow? For those times head directly to
Michael’s…located on 2nd Street, just north of Central, east of
Green Bay and west of the tracks. They have their own
parking lot…sometimes you get lucky and can find a spot.
Hot dogs, burgers and lots of food that just taste
great!
Now here is the Rosebud Restaurant, nearly
directly across the street from Michaels, the home of the
dog-lovers! We whole-heartedly recommend the Rosebud
restaurant to those who are seeking a dining establishment for
a business meeting, a private party, a quiet special luncheon
or just a great place to meet! You can park underground
in the Renaissance Parking Lot or very likely find a spot on
the street!
Now here is another
alternative…Fuddruckers! Ever been there? Walk
around, pick out your own burger and sit back and wait for
it! This location is just west of the Edens Expressway on
Clavey Road and has been there for years! Always a fun
experience for those who love a juicy burger!
Bluegrass is located at the first stop light just
west of the expressway and one block south of Deerfield
Road/Central, across the street from the Highland Park police
station. Bluegrass is small, distinctive and very
appealing to Fran.
We left Ira's favorite for last…Max’s
Deli! He goes there for breakfast almost every day of the
week and knows everyone there.
